I have met so many wonderful people at these parties. It has been so much fun. My first party started out with 14 people, 12 of them I had never before met. We got to know each other pretty well. We had a marshmallow eating contest. Quite a few found they could not handle that many in their mouths at once.
We decided we wanted to do it again, so we formed a party committee. The committee meetings are usually just as fun as the parties, but we get to know each other pretty well.
The second party in February, we had a friend’s home in Ogden. We had just over 60 people. There was dinner, dancing and lots of getting to know each other. I think several couples were formed from that party. I left the party at 1:30 am, I think it officially ended at 4:30 am.
We had another smaller party/game night at my home with 13 people. Again, we got to know each other pretty well. We had a vigorous discussion about men and women and our needs. It was fun and enlightening.
So far, the fourth party in the series was by far the largest. We counted 107 all at the same time. I know some left early and some came later, so the estimate is over 110 people. I can’t imagine what will happen when this continues to grow. We did have some of the guests from previous parties suggest we help them get out and mingle. So at this party, we had an auction. You earned points to bid with by getting to know as many new people as you could. Then those willing got up and presented a fun date. Then we set out to bid and win the date with that person. For most, it was a big hit and we have had a lot of positive comments.
Our next party will be a Luau on April 17th. We will be roasting the meat outside and eating on the grass (bring blankets). Because it is both an indoor and outdoor party, I’m sure we will handle the crowed with no problem. Make sure you bring your favorite Hawaiian food to share with others. There will be a prize for the best dressed islander, so bring your grass skirt, tropical shirt, straw hat and flip flops. We will have a photo booth and maybe even a kissing booth (I wonder how that will go over). Come join us and bring your friends. For this party, we ask for a small donation of $4.
